"Kay what are you doing!" one of her friends called from the beach
Kayora had been floating out on the water enjoying a few moments of calm. the relaxing motion of the small waves and the sun warm on her face all serving to wash away her cares and worries it was the perfect chance to get in the right frame of mind for the rest of the beach trip that she and her friends had all conspired to go on for the last week of summer
She looked up over the water when she heard her name called "what’s it look like I’m doing" she called back in a cheerful tone "I’m floating"
"Well we're going to head up to the hotel for some lunch. Are you coming?"
"Yeah I’ll be right there" she started swimming back to shore and watched as her friends started back to the hotel witch was fine she'd catch up soon enough. She was almost to shore when something in the water caught her eye.
It seemed to be glowing witch seemed rather odd considering it was lying on the ocean floor she debated it for a moment and then dove in after it not seeing the motor boat that was approaching. She swam down until she could get a good look at whatever it was hoping it would be something worth the trouble
She paused in surprise at what she saw it looked to be nothing more than a blue orb roughly the size of a tennis ball and otherwise unremarkable. It likely only looked like it was glowing because of the way that the light was being reflected from the sun through the clear blue water either way it would make an interesting trinket at least she reached out and grabbed it wrapping her fingers around it almost instantly there was a flash of light and then everything went black.

It was the voices she heard next as her world slowly came back into focus they where indistinct at first but slowly they cleared up. It sounded like some people where arguing
"You make it sound like it’s my fault the orb was on the bottom of the ocean!" the first voice was a man
"No I’m saying it’s a stupid place for an orb to be" this was a girl an angry one at that "god of all the times for someone else to find one first, you do know she could have died if we weren’t so close."
The memory of what had just happened came rushing back she had been swimming and picked something up off the ocean floor, there was a flash of light and that was the last thing she remembered how she had ended up back on the beach she wasn’t to sure but she supposed it was thanks to the people she heard arguing.
"There you go again making it sound like it’s my fault"
"Both of you calm down" a second woman ordered in a calm tone "we made it in time and that’s the important part she didn't drown now we just have to wait for her to wake up"
"I am awake" Kayora tried to say but it came out more like a horse whisper followed by a cough
"easy there honey" the calm lady said her voice soothing "just rest for a bit you’ve just been through quite an ordeal but you'll be fine in a few moments" she then turned to the girl that was with them "star go get some cold water"
"But why ca--"
"Now star"
"Yes Laura" star got up from where she was kneeling in the sand next to Kayora and ran off to the drink hut that looked to be a lot farther down the beach then she remembered
Kayora tried sitting up but felt strangely drained similar to if she hadn’t gotten enough sleep,
“Easy there darling” Laura reached to help star sit up “what’s your name dear?”
Kayora finished sitting up with Laura’s help and then held her head in her hands feeling slightly dizzy from the effort "Its Kayora. What happened?" she asked
"we saved you from drowning that’s all that’s important right now" Laura said dismissing the question "and as soon as you feel up to it we should get you back up to you room" the tone of her voice and the expression on her face was all concern but there was something else  that her eyes betrayed
"Here you go" star suddenly announced as she skidded to a halt in the sand next to them handing the bottle of water to Kayora interrupting her from asking any more questions just then
"Thanks" Kayora accepted the water and drank the cool water strangely refreshing her more than she expected
"Feel better?"
"Yes much better thank you?"
